Two things immediately struck us as we were completing a recent folder project: First, the elegance in simplicity of its design; second, the creative and smart arrangement of letters in the company’s logo.

Right away, we could tell that the company is involved in the world of new or soon-to-be mothers. We were curious as to the exact product or service they offered, and what role their custom presentation folders played in its delivery or execution. So we sought out Stephanie Nguyen (RN, MSN, WHNP-C, IBCLC), owner and founder of Modern Milk in Scottsdale, Arizona, for an interview.


FOLDERPRINTERS WRITERS: Please describe your company and its services or specialty.

STEPHANIE NGUYEN: Modern Milk is a mom and baby wellness center that caters to expecting and new parents.

FPW: What makes you stand out or differentiates you from your competition?

SN: We are a unique concept in our area but we always try to focus on great customer service and having a clean, modern area for our customers.

FPW: Are folders in any way a part of it?

SN:We try to make our branding stand out in everything we do. Our folders not only offer an organized way for our parents to hold their class materials, but it also reiterates our branding.

FPW: Who are your main customers?

SN: Expecting and new moms/parents.

FPW: What purpose do your folders generally serve? Is it for marketing or selling? If so, What problems or challenges in marketing, selling do the folders solve for you?

SN: We use our folders for class materials in our parenting classes, such as: Pregnancy, Birth & Baby, The Breastfeeding Class and The Newborn Class,

FPW: Has there been a particular instance (or instances) wherein folders helped in any of your goals? If so please share any anecdotes.

SN: Not necessarily but I do think it helps us convey an upscale and professional look.

FPW: When do you hand them out?

SN: At the beginning of each class.

FPW: What items do you put inside the pockets?

SN: Class materials and handouts.

FPW: Have the folders proven to be effective? Do they work?

SN: Yes!

FPW: In this digital, internet age, why use analog presentation folders?

SN: Our in person classes are very popular and our clientele actually prefers meeting in person and having hands-on materials.

FPW: Who designs your folders?

SN: We have an in-house graphic designer.

FPW: What was your aesthetic philosophy or aim in coming up with the final design?

SN: To match our brand guidelines.

FPW: Are these your first professionally printed folders? What made you decide to go with Folderprinters?

SN: We have been using these folders for a few years but went with Folderprinters recently because their price and turnaround time was much better than other companies.

FPW: Did you look at other folder sellers’ websites? What made you choose us?

SN: I did and they were either too expensive, were not up front with their pricing or would not come in time.

FPW: What was your experience using the website? Was it easy to use?

SN: Super quick, easy and efficient!

FPW: Did you easily find the product you were looking for?

SN: Yes!
