Even as a leading national manufacturer of personalized presentation folders, rarely do we come across a folder design that has a cinematic feel to it. One recent project we completed had just that quality.

We were so intrigued that we approached the company behind these dramatic pieces, Frantz EyeCare, and interviewed their Marketing Director, Bev Hollingshead to learn how folders (and its design) play a part in their operations and aims.

FOLDERPRINTERS WRITERS: Please describe your company and its services or specialty.

BEV HOLLINGSHEAD: Frantz EyeCare and Frantz Cosmetic Center offer the most advanced technology in Laser Cataract Surgery, Laser Vision Correction (LASIK along with several other options), the treatment of eye diseases of the cornea, retina, and glaucoma, comprehensive eye care, retail optical, and oculoplastic/cosmetic surgery. We are located in Southwest Florida serving three counties with multiple locations.

FPW: What makes you stand out or differentiates you from your competition?

BH: We are the largest physician owned and led eye practice in Southwest Florida, and were the first to bring FDA-approved trifocal cataract replacement lens technology (PanOptix) to the region.

FPW: Are folders in any way a part of it?

BH: Our folders provide detailed clinical information to patients, bios of our team of highly-trained specialists, and an outline of the lens enhancement solutions available to them for cataract surgery along with other procedures we offer.

FPW: Who are your main customers?

BH: Our practice serves patients from childhood on up...All eyes/All phases of life!

FPW: What purpose do your folders generally serve? Is it for marketing or selling? If so, What problems or challenges in marketing, selling do the folders solve for you?

BH: Internal Marketing to patients, and external marketing to OD management partners. Our folders serve as an educational tool in both scenarios.

FPW: Has there been a particular instance (or instances) wherein folders helped in any of your goals?

BH: Folders help coinciding with our other marketing practices.

FPW: When do you hand them out?

BH: During the course of business hours in one-on-one consultations with patients.

FPW: What items do you put inside the pockets?

BH:Flyers relative to additional education or other purchasing opportunities.

FPW: Have the folders proven to be effective? Do they work?

BH: Yes.

FPW: In this digital, internet, AI age, why use analog presentation folders?

BH: A good portion of our surgery patients are over the age of 60. They do not enjoy swiping through their phones - trying to read things in fine print.

FPW: Who designs your folders?

BH: We have a graphic artist that we use.

FPW: Are these your first professionally printed folders? What made you decide to go with Folderprinters?

Our Takeaway

Frantz Eyewear's folder design is a study in impact, image and brand identity. Even without explicitly featuring a product. From the model's stunning eyes, hair flowing in the wind; to the rich, vibrant and saturated colors of the entire layout, they have produced a printed piece with a cinematic aesthetic.
